REVIEW: SANDRINGHAM’S Y14 JAPANESE RESTAURANT & BAR

Review:

On a great summers evening in Melbourne. I highly suggest catching the best fresh seafood and sushi in Sandringham’s newest addition Y14 JAPANESE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT AND BAR. Great location and it will not disappoint the taste-buds. It’s definitely hitting the modern Asian fusion with fresh Australian produce. I’m a sucker for location with great tasting and colorful food.

Location: Directions

Food:

If you’re anything like myself. I like to really see what I’m eating. The presentation of the ingredients and colours is important to me, along with proportions.

Order:

  • Sushi & Sashimi Platter ($56.00)
  • Chips & Mayonnaise ($8.00)

The platter you can see to your left. With a delicious mix of FRESH seafood and I mean FRESH. Selection of choice definitely complemented each other. The scallops had a beautiful sauce surrounding it which I wish I ate first. Although there was a large amount of sauce it was so tasteful. The oyster was sitting in a beautiful almost marinade that just went down to easily. Prawns were standard fresh and cooked what more could you ask for. The entire platter was well presented and very tasteful but not over powering each other. Proportion wise shared between two with thick cut hot chips with a delicious but tame seasoning.

Service:

Not quite up to the standard of the magnificent food but no complaints either.

Atmosphere:

Sandringham is generally a quite suburb during the evening. Fit for couples and family dinning wanting a more relaxed dinner than dinning in comparison to Chapel St restaurants which are more fast pace.

Perfect for a delightful summers evening along the Bayside Peninsula.
